​Verna Chisman, President.

The President of Allure & Wellness Management Services, Verna Chisman, developed her years of experience at multiple premier Life Plan and 55+ communities across the country. During her tenure with Life Care Services (LCS,) Verna was a member of the Corporate Resource Team, Corporate Health & Wellness Committee, Task Force Committee and development of Odyssey (technology platform) and Director of Community Life Services for Sagewood & Acacia Health Center. In 2016, Verna was recruited by John Knox Village of Pompano Beach & The Woodlands. She held the position as Director of Wellness which required considerable involvement on the development of a comprehensive Master Plan inclusive of reframing the culture and integrating the Green House Project within the community. Verna’s early career began with Trilogy of Vistancia as Director of Events and as Director of Life Enrichment for Sierra Pointe in Arizona.

 

Verna has obtained extensive education and certifications relative to the industry. Verna’s most recent accomplishment is the completion of the ICAA Leadership in Wellness Management Course and is honored to be appointed as Co-Chair on ICAA’s Education Committee. Verna received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree; General and English Major from Ball State University. Additional certifications include: Green House Project Core Training,  Best Life Train the Trainer Green House Project, Train the Brain, “Better with Age” Training Program, Heartfelt Connections Certification, Banner Health’s Alzheimer Institute Compass Certification and Certified Meeting Professional.                                                                                                                                                                         

Through the introduction and implementation of a resident wellness plan/data centralization; staff integration & wellness plan; clinical trials; multi-generational programs; virtual reality, continuing education and neuroplasticity are accomplishments that have enabled Verna to enhance and engage the wellness culture within multiple active adult communities. Verna’s role with the Corporate Resource Team enabled the experience of consulting and offering guidance to communities and colleagues which lead to fulfilling her passion and dream of developing Allure Wellness & Management Services consulting firm.

Verna believes as we embrace and learn from these experiences, we have the privilege of enhancing the lives of our residents and staff. Verna’s ability to collaborate and network with industry experts; such as,  International Council on Active Aging, Domtar, MyndVR, Brain Wealth, Dementia Care Education, LeadingAge, NIFS, The Thought Provokers, Arts for the Ages, Green House Project, Mayo Clinic and Banner Sun Health Research Institute has broaden her scope of resources and strategic partners. Verna’s sole purpose and mission is to share her experiences and knowledge… and she has had opportunity and good fortune of being the author of multiple industry publications and a presenter for International Council on Active Aging, LCS (Life Care Services) National Conferences & Symposiums and Senior Living 100 National Conference.
